PRESS RELEASE

Parents, students, staff, and patrons of Broken Arrow Public Schools can now watch the progress of the school district’s Performing Arts Center project live with the click of a mouse.

BAPS Partner in Education Windstream Communications has donated a web cam that has been installed at the current Education Service Center that shows the PAC project site live 24 hours a day seven days week.  The Windstream Web-Cam gives people (via their personal computer) the opportunity to see the work being done at the PAC site live.

This real-time live PAC project site is available through a link on the BAPS website at www.ba.k12.ok.us. People who want to see the live progress of the PAC project can simply follow the prompts from the Windstream Web-Cam link that appears on the front page of the school district’s website.

“Our school district’s voters have overwhelmingly supported this project, and we are thrilled to be able to make seeing the progress on the PAC so easy to access,” Broken Arrow Public Schools Chief Operating Officer, Wes Smithwick said.  “We’re thankful that our Partner in Education, Windstream Communications has provided our district and community with the tool to make this service a reality for our patrons and supporters.”

The Performing Arts Center/Education Service Center project is made possible by voters’ approval of the 2004 and 2006 Broken Arrow School Bond Elections.  It is expected to be completed in the fall of 2008.
