Title VII, JOM meetings set

Title VII and Johnson O’Malley (JOM) programs will be holding important parent meetings the evening of April 16 at Central on Main.  The JOM meeting begins at 6 p.m. with the Title VII meeting to begin at 7 p.m. that evening.

Title VII is a federally funded program through the Department of Education operating within the Office of Indian Education in Washington, D.C.  Broken Arrow Public Schools administers the program for this school district. Income levels have nothing to do with this federal program.

J.O.M. is a federally funded program through the Bureau of Indian Affairs. Subcontracts are through the Muskogee (Creek) Nation’s Education Department. Broken Arrow Public Schools administers the program for this school district. All students who have a Certificate Degree of Indian Blood card (CDIB) or whose parent(s) hold a CDIB card are eligible. Income levels have nothing to do with this federal program

Recently, parents of Broken Arrow Public Schools students in the JOM program were given a Needs Assessment survey for the program.  Students, whose parents returned the completed survey by March 15, were entered into a drawing for five prizes ($25 gift card to Wal-Mart). 

Students whose names were drawn to receive prizes are Reagan Davenport of Liberty Elementary, Cassie Townsend of Oak Crest Elementary, Bailey Wilson of Lynn Wood Elementary, Addison Jackson of South Intermediate High School, and Sarah Moore of Broken Arrow High School.
