BAPS extends opportunities for staff, community input on superintendent search

Broken Arrow Public Schools is extending the opportunities for parents, patrons, and staff to offer input on the district’s superintendent search.

Those who did not get the chance to take part in public forums with the two finalists for Superintendent (held at Central on Main on Jan. 12 and Jan. 14) may watch the public forums via the district website or on TV on BATV. Those wishing to access the public forums of Jarod Mendenhall and or Dr. Diane Gross may do so through the following URL- http://www.baschools.org/batv/whatson.html.

Interested viewers may also watch the presentations on BATV (Cox Cable Channel 20) on the following days and times:
• Tue. Jan 19 at 8 p.m.
• Wed. Jan 20 at 8 a.m.
• Fri. Jan 22 at 2 p.m. and 8:30 p.m.
• Sun. Jan 24 at 7 p.m.

Patrons who watch the videos either on the internet or on TV may then offer their feedback and comments by completing either a survey or rubric (or both) that are available on the district’s website at www.baschools.org. (The password for the online survey is “vision”). The completed rubric may be delivered via email to feedback@baschools.org, or to a school board member or dropped off in person at the receptionist desk at the district’s Performing Arts Center. The deadline for the survey and or rubric to be turned in for consideration by the Board of Education is Monday, Jan. 25 at 5 p.m.

The Board of Education had originally stated that Jan. 15 would be the deadline for the surveys but wanted to extend that deadline by ten days to give additional opportunities for input by district parents, patrons, and staff.
The school board is then expected to hold a special meeting to go over the results of the surveys and rubrics.
