Bus stops, routes to be altered because of increasing fuel costs
The ever-increasing fuel costs have caused Broken Arrow Public Schools to shorten some bus routes and reduce the number of stops along several routes for the 2008-2009 school year. 28 routes will be impacted in this move that creates fewer door to door stops and more regionalized stops increasing efficiency for the bus operations, which will produce a savings in fuel and maintenance costs for the district. In some cases, students will walk as many as four blocks to their new authorized bus stop. Bus routes not on this list will not be altered at this time. For additional information, contact the BAPS Transportation Office at 259-4550 or log onto the district’s website at www.baschools.org.
