11.6 Staff Participation in Political Activities
Employees of Broken Arrow Public Schools have the same fundamental civic responsibilities and privileges as other citizens, and are encouraged to participate in the political election process. In accordance with the intent of Oklahoma State Statutes, political activity in which a school employee participates shall only be exercised during off-duty hours. Staff participation in any political activity must be limited to personal time. Use of school facilities, equipment or supplies is not authorized for political campaigning. Employees are instructed not to discuss political candidates with school personnel during the work day; nor shall an employee use any time during the working day for campaigning purposes. Use of school mail boxes, bulletin boards, and other facilities for political campaign purposes is not authorized. Distribution of political campaign material within the school facilities or on school campuses during the working day or at school events is not authorized.
