11.2 Vacation Policy for Full-Time (12-Month) Employees
Support Staff Paid vacation time is authorized for full-time support employees who are employed in 12-month, 8-hour per day positions. Employees who work less than full-time assignments are not eligible to receive vacation benefits. Employees in full-time assignments shall be allowed vacation time annually according to the following schedule: Fiscal Years of Service Days Accrued Maximum Work Days in Broken Arrow Schools Per Month of Paid Vacation 0 through 1 year .50 6 2 through 5 years 1.00 12 6 through 10 years 1.25 15 11 through 15 years 1.50 18 16 through 20 years 1.75 21 21 years and over 2.00 24 Previous years of service will be considered to be a year's service if the employee worked a minimum of 30 hours a week for 9 months during the fiscal year. Administrators Administrators in full-time assignments shall be allowed vacation time annually according to the following schedule: Less than 10 years service - 20 days 10 or more years service - 25 days Accrual Rate: Vacation time shall accrue at the rate of 1.67 days per month for administrators with less than 10 years of qualifying service and 2.08 days per month for career employees. In the event assignment to a full-time, 12-month position is made after the start of the fiscal year (July 1), or initial employment occurred after the start of the fiscal year (July 1), vacation will be prorated for that year. Vacation time may be applied for initially only after an administrator has earned a minimum of five days of accrued time. Employees may accrue a maximum of 240 hours (30) days. No further vacation time will be earned until the employee has used vacation time to reduce the number of accrued hours below 240. Vacation time may not be requested or used in less than one-half day increments nor more than 10 days consecutively. To be eligible for the career vacation schedule of 10 or more years service, an administrator must have completed 10 or more years of service at the end of the preceding school year (June 30), with those 10 years of service all to be accumulated in positions with Broken Arrow Public Schools. Vacation may not be used while employee is on probationary status; however, vacation will accrue from the first month of employment. Vacation will begin to accrue on the first of the month following start date. To be eligible for the career vacation schedule, years of service must be earned by the end of the preceding school year (June 30), with those years of service all to be accumulated in positions with Broken Arrow Public Schools.
