Section 11.0- Personnel

11.13 Compliance with Professional Development Plan

Annual requirements for certificated staff to earn staff development points are contained in the school district's Professional Development Plan. The plan requires annual review and ratification by the Board of Education.

In accordance with Oklahoma Statutes, and in accordance with the Professional Development Plan, the Board of Education is authorized to impose appropriate disciplinary action when an employee fails to meet the minimum requirements related to earning staff development points.

At the end of the staff development plan year, as defined by the plan, the personnel division staff shall prepare for review by the Board of Education a report indicating the names of employees who failed to meet the minimum requirements, the number of points each employee is deficient, and any letters of explanation submitted by the employees.

Upon authorization by the Board of Education, the following action shall be imposed upon employees who are deficient in meeting staff development requirements:

1. Employees shall be required to make up the deficient points during the subsequent plan year, in addition to the requirements for the plan year; and,
2. The contract for the employee for the next school year shall be reduced by an amount not to exceed $400.00 as a penalty for failure to meet minimum Staff Development Plan requirements:

Points Deficient Contract Reduction
1 to 5 $100.00
5.5 to 10 $200.00
More than 10 $400.00

Failure of an employee to meet the minimum requirements for a second consecutive year may result in termination of the employee.
